Download the APK only from the official BSKorean download page. BSKorean is currently distributed directly through this website and is not yet a Google Play production release. Keep an internet connection available while using the app; offline operation is not guaranteed.
You can learn as a guest, with progress kept on the current device. If you want account saving, supported synchronization, restoration on another device, or a level check, use Google sign-in. Google is the only account sign-in method; BSKorean does not ask for or receive your Google password.
Your first 10-minute Korean study routine
0:00–1:00 — Choose your explanation language
Select English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, or Indonesian for meanings and instructions. This changes how Korean is explained; Korean remains the language you study. Choose the language in which you can understand short definitions most quickly.
1:00–2:00 — Continue as a guest or sign in with Google
Choose guest learning for a quick device-only start. Choose Google sign-in if you want to connect supported progress to your account or continue on another device. There is no separate BSKorean password login.
2:00–3:00 — Pick your starting point
BSKorean may offer a level check using TOPIK 1–6 as a learning reference. Answer from what you know instead of guessing. The result helps select a starting point; it is not an official TOPIK score, certificate, or exam prediction. If you want to begin immediately, choose Learn Korean now and return to the level check later.
3:00–4:00 — Open Learn and choose five words
Tap Learn and select a five-word session. BSKorean also offers larger sessions, but five words give a beginner enough time to notice pronunciation, meaning, and context. Words due for review are prioritized before suitable new words.
4:00–6:30 — Listen, read, and say each word
For each learning card:
- Listen to the Korean audio once.
- Say the word aloud once.
- Read the main meaning in your selected language.
- Look at the Korean example and find the word in context.
- Move on when you can connect the sound with one clear meaning.
This is the Learn stage. You do not need perfect memory on the first encounter. Your goal is to create a useful connection between the Korean form, its sound, and its meaning.
6:30–8:30 — Recall before you tap
In Recall, pause for a moment before choosing an answer. Try to retrieve the meaning from the Korean prompt rather than selecting the first familiar-looking option. Recognition after seeing an answer is not the same as recalling it yourself.
A wrong answer is useful information. It shows which word needs more attention and can move that word into the review path. Do not restart only to make the result look better.
8:30–9:30 — Read the feedback correctly
Check the answer, the weak word, and the suggested next action. Treat the result as a snapshot of this attempt, not a judgment of your overall Korean ability. Any learning-level or vocabulary figure shown by BSKorean is an estimate based on available learning evidence, not an exact word count or official test result.
9:30–10:00 — Open Review
Tap Review and check for words that need attention. An incorrect word may be due immediately; other words return according to their review schedule. If the list is empty after your first lesson, that is normal—come back later and try to remember before checking the answer.
Learn, Recall, and Review: what is the difference?
Learn introduces a word through sound, meaning, and a Korean example. Recall removes some clues and asks you to retrieve the meaning. Review brings back weak or due words instead of making every word repeat equally.
The learning loop is simple: meet the word → retrieve it from memory → return to it when needed.
Beginner tips for learning Korean vocabulary
- Start with five words and increase the session size only when five feels comfortable.
- Keep audio on and repeat every Korean word once.
- Focus on one useful meaning and one example before collecting extra definitions.
- Give yourself a few seconds to recall before tapping an answer.
- Complete due review words before adding a large number of new words.
- If Hangul is new to you, learn its vowels and consonants alongside vocabulary practice.
- Repeat a short session at roughly the same time each day.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google account?
No. Guest learning is available and its progress stays on the current device. Google sign-in is optional for supported account saving, synchronization, restoration, and the online level check.
Is the BSKorean level check an official TOPIK test?
No. It is an in-app estimate that uses TOPIK levels as a learning reference. BSKorean is not an official TOPIK test, certificate, government service, or pass guarantee.
Why is my Review list empty?
Review shows words that currently need attention or have reached their scheduled time. After a first lesson, nothing may be due yet. Continue with a small Learn session and check Review again later.
Where should I download or update BSKorean?
Use only the official download page. Check the BSKorean update history before installing a newer build.
