You are trying to send money in Korea. Maybe you need to pay rent, send money to a friend, check whether a deposit arrived, or set up an automatic payment for a utility bill. The bank app or ATM shows short Korean words such as 계좌, 이체, 입금, 출금, and 잔액. Even if the app has some English, these Korean words often appear in receipts, messages, and confirmation screens.
This lesson explains Korean bank transfer phrases for daily life. It focuses on the words you need when checking an account, sending money, confirming a deposit, and understanding automatic payments. The goal is not to make you a banking expert. The goal is to help you recognize the action you need to take before you press the wrong button.

Usage Notes
이체 means a transfer between accounts. In daily life, it is one of the most important banking words. If someone says 계좌이체, they usually mean “bank transfer.” You may hear it when paying a small business, sending rent, or paying a private seller. It is different from paying by card because the money moves directly from your account to another account.
입금 and 출금 describe money movement. 입금 means money enters an account. 출금 means money leaves an account or is withdrawn. A beginner may think 입금 always means putting cash into a machine, but in many daily situations it also means “the money has arrived.” For example, 입금 확인 means checking whether the payment arrived.
계좌번호 is the account number. Before sending money, always check the account number and the 수취인, the recipient. Korean banking screens often show the recipient name before the final confirmation. This step matters because a wrong transfer can be difficult and stressful to fix.
자동이체 and 자동납부 are useful but slightly different. 자동이체 focuses on a repeated transfer from your account. 자동납부 focuses on automatic bill payment. For rent, maintenance fees, phone bills, and utilities, you may see one of these words in bank apps or service websites.
Mini Dialogue
Bank Staff: 계좌번호 확인하셨나요?
Gyejwa beonho hwaginhaseonnayo?
Did you check the account number?
Customer: 네, 확인했어요. 이체하고 싶어요.
Ne, hwaginhaesseoyo. Ichehago sipeoyo.
Yes, I checked it. I want to make a transfer.
Bank Staff: 수취인 이름과 금액을 다시 확인해 주세요.
Suchwiin ireumgwa geumaegeul dasi hwaginhae juseyo.
Please check the recipient name and amount again.
Customer: 입금 확인은 바로 되나요?
Ipgeum hwagineun baro doenayo?
Can the deposit be confirmed right away?
This dialogue is realistic because bank staff usually ask you to check the account number, recipient, and amount before the final transfer. For learners, the most useful pattern is N을/를 확인해 주세요, meaning “Please check N.”
Common Mistakes
Mistake 1: Thinking 입금 only means cash deposit.
In daily Korean, 입금 can also mean that money was sent or received. If a seller says 입금 확인 후 보내드릴게요, it means they will send the item after confirming your payment.
Mistake 2: Confusing 이체 and 결제.
이체 means transfer between accounts. 결제 means payment or checkout. A card payment at a store is usually 결제, but sending money from your account is 이체.
Mistake 3: Ignoring 수취인 before confirming.
Do not check only the number. On Korean bank screens, the recipient name is a key safety check. If the 수취인 does not match the person or company you expect, stop and ask before sending money.
