Korean Taxi Destination Words

If you are in a taxi in Korea, the fastest useful Korean is not a long sentence. Say the destination, show the address or map, then give one short direction near the end of the ride. This lesson focuses on the words that help a driver understand where to go and where to stop.

Address and map pattern

Use 이 주소로 가 주세요 when the destination is an address. If pronunciation is hard, show your phone and say 지도 보여 드릴게요. The words 목적지, 주소, and 지도 keep the conversation clear even when the place name is unfamiliar.

Final direction words

Near the destination, use one direction at a time: 직진, 좌회전, or 우회전. When you arrive, say 여기서 세워 주세요. Keep the sentence short so the driver can act immediately.

A: 이 주소로 가 주세요.
B: 네, 지도 보여 주세요.
A: 조금 더 직진해 주세요.

Common mistake

Do not repeat a long English address if the driver is already confused. Show the map, point to the destination, and use one Korean direction at a time. That usually works better than trying to pronounce every part of the address.
