How to Apply for Unemployment Benefit Eligibility in Korea

Eight checks on unemployment-benefit Form 75

1. Before writing: confirm that Employment24 job-seeker registration is complete and that the employer’s separation report and separation confirmation reflect the same dates and reason. Form 75 starts eligibility review; it does not itself guarantee recognition.
2. Applicant and last workplace: copy name, resident number, Korean address, email and reachable phones from current records. Enter last workplace name/location, qualification acquisition date, last day worked and a concrete separation reason; resolve discrepancies before signing.
3. Insured category: people who held multiple insured statuses choose the category for this claim—regular, daily, artist, short-term artist, labor provider or short-term labor provider. Do not mark a category merely because the words seem familiar.
4. Current situation and work ability: disclose any employment or business and its details. State whether you can now take employment or self-employment; if not, state the real pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, illness, injury, family-care or other reason. Also answer industrial-accident leave benefit, disability, job-seeker registration and unfair-dismissal petition questions.
5. Category-specific counts: daily workers calculate workdays over the printed period and compare them with one third; short-term artists/providers count labor-provision days in the previous month; construction daily workers and certain short-term providers answer the 14-consecutive-day question. Use payroll and insurance records, not estimates.
6. Livelihood benefit and services: answer whether you participated in self-support work as a livelihood-benefit recipient, noting that medical, housing, education, special and near-poverty categories are treated differently on the form. Select any desired reemployment services, including job information, placement, guidance, assessment or training.
7. Signatures and optional choices: date and sign the eligibility application. The three-year personal-data marketing/opinion consent is optional and has its own signature. Separately decide whether to request National Pension credited coverage, delivery method, automatic withdrawal, and property/income verification consent; exclusions include people aged 60 or older at benefit start.
8. After filing: attachments and fees are listed as none, but the center may verify supporting facts. The form shows 14 days (5 days for a specified case) and flows to recognition or a nonrecognition notice. Keep the filed copy and decision. Form 82 and recurring unemployment-recognition dates come only after this initial stage.
