1. Choose prepaid or postpaid

Passport-only activation is generally limited to prepaid service and carrier conditions. A residence card can expand postpaid options; eligibility still varies by carrier, status and remaining stay.

Use an official carrier store or verified retailer. Bring the residence card when available and the passport if requested. Check foreign-language support before traveling.

3. Compare the full monthly price

Compare base fee, data allowance and reduced speed, calls, texts, VAT, SIM charge, activation fee and any device payment. Ask for the total in writing.

4. Check contract, discounts and exit costs

5. Confirm SIM and device compatibility

For a phone brought from abroad, ask whether the SIM, network bands and device identifier are accepted. Do not let a store keep the device or identity document unnecessarily.

Postpaid service can require an accepted payment method. Confirm the first bill date, automatic payment, paper or text billing, and what happens if payment fails.

8. Keep the application and protect your name

Receive the completed application copy and check the line is registered in your own name. Msafer can show services opened under your name and offers opening restrictions; authentication may be required.
