The safest routine is simple: check the room number, identify the status word, complete the task, then report anything unusual to the supervisor.

In a busy hotel, a small missing item can become a guest complaint. Missing towels, no bottled water, stained linen, or a broken bathroom light should be reported before the room is released.

A useful reporting order is: room number + status + problem or completed task. For example: 1205호 청소 완료했습니다. 비품 보충했습니다. 점검 부탁드립니다.

Usage Point

Use 청소 완료했습니다 when you report finished work politely. In a workplace, 청소 끝 is understandable, but it sounds too casual for a report.

Use 보충했습니다 when you added missing supplies such as 수건, 생수, cups, or toiletries. Use 교체했습니다 when you replaced something with a new one.

Use 보고하겠습니다 when there is a problem you should not decide alone. For example, a guest item, a broken fixture, or a serious stain should be reported.

분실물 means an item left by a guest. It should not be treated like trash. Many hotels have a separate lost-and-found rule, so report it and follow the storage process.

오염 is stronger than simply “dirty.” It often means a stain or contamination that may require replacement, special cleaning, or supervisor approval.

Common Mistakes

1. Confusing 청소 전 and 청소 완료
   청소 전 means the room has not been cleaned yet. 청소 완료 means cleaning is finished. These two phrases lead to opposite actions.
2. Reporting too casually
   청소 끝났어요 is common in conversation, but 청소 완료했습니다 is safer and more professional when reporting to a supervisor.
3. Ignoring 분실물
   A lost item is not regular trash. If you find 분실물, report it and follow the hotel storage rule.
4. Saying 완료 before inspection is ready
   If supplies are missing or a problem remains, do not report 청소 완료 too early. Say what is missing first, such as 비품 보충이 필요합니다 or 린넨 교체가 필요합니다.
